WASHINGTON — 2/26/25 — United for Patent Reform (UFPR) issued the following statement after the reintroduction of the Realizing Engineering, Science, and Technology Opportunities by Restoring Exclusive, or RESTORE, Patent Rights Act:
“The RESTORE Act claims to support U.S. innovation, businesses, and consumers but those claims couldn’t be further from the truth. This legislation would overrule the Supreme Court’s longstanding, unanimous eBay decision opening the doors for patent trolls, especially foreign entities, to threaten American Main Street retailers, restaurants, hotels, and small businesses with abusive litigation. The RESTORE Act is a bad solution in search of a problem and we urge Congress to reject this attempt to turn back the clock.”
